Residential complex study in an attractive riverside environment

The proposed venue is situated in an attractive location of the town of Trenčín next to the Váh River in theclose vicinity of the recreation-like island. The territory is currently utilized as a parking space. The swimming and bathing pool building is also located in its close vicinity, which should be moved to the adjacent island. The territory borders are clearly determined by two bridges (one of them connects the town with the island, the other - railway one should be soon reconstructed) and the Váh River water stream.

At the preparation of our proposal we were considering attractiveness of the given location, its cardinal orientation and its views, while trying to maintain characteristic views from the island towards the silhouette of the town of Trenčín with its dominant, the castle of Trenčín. The views from the island might be maintained by cutting the proposed material with consequent creation of terraces providing higher-quality dwelling.

The material perforation also takes place at the parterre level and results in a smooth connection with the river. We propose a wooden mole, plateau, at the parterre level, on which the buildings concerned should be standing. A new urban feature, the square, the contact with water through proposed sitting steps and the green zone, is thus created. A space for a wide spectrum of activities is thus developed. Functional design of the buildings particularly includes premises for hire, shops and services making the plateau more vital and creating a pulsating and diversified environment.
