11 Apartments

Extension of apartment building in Bratislava.

Roof House

The superstructure is situated on the corner apartment building in the Košická Street and in the Dulovo Square. The superstructure can be described as a two-floored roof superstructure with a flat roof; the second floor is perforated by green terraces and patios. All apartments are accessible through a gallery; however, each apartment is equipped with its own "fore-entrance" garden situated in the gallery, so apartments have no direct contact with the gallery. The superstructure includes 11 apartments. Considered parking places will occupy free space inside the building's courtyard.

11 Apartments

The south part of each apartment consists of a horizontal loggia to be used, together with the living room, as the top communication and relax point. The facade surface will be divided onto a firmly glass-covered surface and a solid surface – wooden lining, a part of which will be formed by loggia’s door. The handrail also includes a concrete flower pot in the same length as the loggia; its green has an aesthetic function and forms a filter between the loggia and the square/street. The apartments not situated at the edge positions of the gallery /apartments B, E/ will be accessible through their own fore-gardens, i.e. through the filter.

Each apartment situated on the superstructure’s second floor has its own terrace connected with the living room. Terrace handrails include concrete flower pots containing green of circa 1 meter of height again. The basic material, the facade of the second floor is made of, is a common plaster combined with sky-blue metal plate squares with high brightness hanging on stainless wall hooks becoming denser towards the roof and making its colour similar to the sky.
